It's been a bit of a quiet summer on the gigging front, largely because I've sequestered myself in the workshop of Nate Banton, the Brooklyn--based Scottish bellows pipe maker. I'm apprenticing as a pipe maker under Nate's instruction, and with his guidance I've made myself a new set of pipes. The set has five drones and features a contrabass, which plays an octave below the bass. I'm right into it. You can hear a set I recorded in Nate's shop just a few days ago over on Youtube, and there will be loads more to come. Keep checking back here for more updates and tunes.
