Well, I'm coming out of a weekend of blazing tunes and exceedingly excellent craic. I had a fantastic time playing with the incredible fiddler Athena Tergis on Saturday night at Symphony Space in Manhattan as part of Mick Maloney's Celtic Appalachian concert. This was immediately followed by an onslaught of excellent sessions, beginning the night (morning?) following the concert and terminating somewhere in the small hours of Monday evening. I had the opportunity to play alongside a heap of incredible musicians and was honored to share hosting duties with Alasdair White and Kyle Sanna on Sunday evening.
What's next? Well, with a fairly quiet next month or so approaching, I'll be putting in the time to get my new set of pipes finished over at Nate Banton's workshop in Williamsburg, where I'm currently an apprentice pipemaker. There have been some rumors of my pipes sprouting new drones, switches, keys, etc. I won't confirm or deny any of this--let's just say that the piping world should be expecting some interesting things. Look out for photos, videos, and more soon.
